Facilitation, training and the consulting that goes with them, are my ways of contributing towards the shift to a better society.

The Geek Under the hood

Bitten by the world-changing bug, I have spent the better part of the past six years living, working, studying and traveling across the globe learning what's working, and what's not, about the ways in which our society functions.

I'm particularly interested in systemic causes--how do our current ways of thinking, being, doing and organizing ourselves contribute to either generative or destructive outcomes for people and planet? What is it about our 'big systems' (like politics, the economy, health care and education) that leads them to produce the results they do? And what is it about us that causes us to design and operate these systems in the ways we do, in the first place? Is all this inevitable? Is human nature fundamentally destructive, selfish and individualistic? I don't believe so, though Western society is enamored of a story that says we are.

When we become aware of our own ways of thinking, being and doing, we discover the power to change them, to produce better results--for ourselves and the world around us. This work is most powerful, and the changes most enduring, when we do it together with others.

international background

With a French-Algerian father and an American mother raised in pre-statehood Hawai'i, I am the product of a cross-cultural, tri-lingual marriage. Both of my parents worked internationally. I was raised with an acute awareness of how different cultures, contexts and worldviews inform communications, (mis)understandings between people, and foundational perceptions of reality and possibility. I also learned how, despite these complexities, our humanness is universal and can dissolve perceived barriers between people.

A dual citizen of France and the US, I am currently based in Seattle, where I was raised. As an adult, I have lived for a year or more each in France, Belgium, Sweden and the UK, and taken learning journeys of 3-4 months each in Brazil, Australia and Eastern Canada. Other continents touched include Africa and Asia. I am Fluent in English and French, with conversational proficiency in Portuguese and a little Spanish.

Beyond Facilitation...

Working as a facilitator, trainer and consultant isn't the only way I help people build better futures. For nearly 20 years I have also coached and advocated for people through one of the biggest transitions they can make--changing homes. Tailored Moves is my Seattle-area real estate business. At the end of the day, everything I do with both of my businesses is about supporting people to create better futures.

Some of my other passions include physical fitness, art, design, nature, mindfulness and good cooking for good friends.
